"Grateful" Marcos Dias Eyeing Next Level After Revs II Success
Dias has the most key passes and is tied for most assists in MLS Next Pro.
Marcos Dias is looking to make the jump to the next level after accomplishing so much with New England Revolution II.
Dias, 23, joined the Revs’ second team in 2022 on loan from Vasco da Gama in native Brazil. He adjusted quickly–collecting six goals and one assist in 19 appearances–which led to him being purchased outright ahead of the 2023 season.
He’s been a staple for the second team for four years and now holds the title for most assists (19) and goals (33) in club history.
“I've been here for a while, it's already the fourth season,” Dias said through a translator. “Thank God I've been able to get my goals, give assists, and help the team.”
Dias has been a consistent attacking threat, despite the ups and downs.
He was the team’s second-highest goalscorer (eight goals) in 2023 when Revs II finished second in the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference. In 2024, he had nine goals during a season of change that saw the club finish 15th in the Eastern Conference.
This year, he has nine goals while leading the league in key passes (79) and assists (ten). Revs II currently sit fourth in the table with 45 points.
Dias’ quality was rewarded last year when he made four bench appearances for the first team via short-term loans. He made his MLS debut on July 6, playing three minutes as a late substitute against the Seattle Sounders.
Dias hasn’t been called up again this year, though he has worked with the first team.
“I trained there a few times this year,” Dias said. “It was a cool experience. The level of the first team is very high, and being able to train at that level is very good for my development as a player.”
His 2025 efforts have been primarily with Revs II, collecting 1996 minutes in 23 games (22 starts). The team is looking to finish the last five games strong before entering the playoffs.
“I am very grateful to Revs II for the opportunity to play and continue developing my football,” Dias said. “It has been a season of great learning. The team has been playing very well.
“I believe we have a great chance of being champions this season, but for that we need to continue working hard every day, and continue to dedicate ourselves to the maximum in every game.”
Dias will see what materializes after the season concludes. His agent, Diego Bitencourt, stated that clubs in Brazil, Dubai, Qatar, and the United States have expressed interest.
Dias prefers to stay in New England, where he’s created positive memories, both professionally and personally.
He’s grateful for the experience and dreams of being a regular contributor in MLS, especially for the Revolution.
“When Marcos Dias left Brazil, I knew he had everything it takes to become a top scorer at New England – and he’s proven it on the field,” Bitencourt said. “I’m proud of the work he’s been putting in for the club, and I hope the staff sees his commitment, because he wants to achieve his dreams and goals here.”
