Former Vermont Green FC Defender Selected in 2024 MLS SuperDraft

Yet another year of a VGFC player being drafted.

For the second straight year, a former member of The Green has been selected in the MLS SuperDraft. Defender Nate Jones was taken fifth overall by Austin FC.

The junior defender made the Pac-12 All-Conference First Team in 2023 and the Second Team in 2022. He started 18 games this past season for Washington, tallying three goals and two assists.

Jones spent the summer in Burlington with The Green for the 2023 USL League Two season.

Update: Jones has been traded to the Colorado Rapids.
