Current and Former Vermont Green FC Players Declare for 2026 MLS SuperDraft
The group will look to join the growing list of Vermont Green FC players who have been drafted into MLS.
Current Vermont Green FC players Ian Abbey, Victor Akoum, Rui Aoki, Luca Costabile, Enzo Dovlo, Niklas Herceg, Mohammed Ibrahim, Maxi Kissel, Ayoub Lajhar, Julien Le Bourdoulous, Nick Lockermann, Moussa Ndiaye, Stephane Njike, and Joseph Picotto have declared for the 2026 MLS SuperDraft.
Both Dovlo and Njike appeared at the MLS College Showcase and appear likely to be drafted with that in mind. Njike played 18 games for the Maryland Terrapins and scored seven goals and seven assists. The Terps’ season came to an end in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
Costabile and Picotto played key roles for the Terps alongside Njike. Costabile played 19 games and scored two goals and an assist, while Picotto played 14 games and tallied two goals and seven assists.
Dovlo had a similarly impressive season with the University of North Carolina (Greensboro). He scored 10 goals and eight assists in 23 games played. UNCG’s season came to an end in the third round of the NCAA tourney.
Le Bourdoulos continued to work his magic alongside Dovlo, with 15 games played and recorded two goals and four assists.
Abbey played 16 games for the Providence Friars and tallied three goals and three assists. Akoum only played in six games this season for the Hoosiers after transferring from the University of Virginia.
The list also features Aoki, Herceg, Kissel, and Lockermann, who all played for the University of Vermont. Aoki played 11 games for the Catamounts while Herceg appeared in 20 games and recorded 10 shutouts and a goals against average of 0.74.
Kissel played 15 games and scored five goals and four assists. Lockermann also appeared in 18 games and scored two goals and two assists.
Captain Moussa Ndiaye completed his career having played 67 games for Virginia Commonwealth University. He scored four goals and three assists across four seasons. Ibrahim played alongside Ndiaye and tallied three goals in 17 games played in 2025.
Finally, Ayoub Lajhar played 16 games for the UCONN Huskies in 2025. The Vermont native scored a goal and six assists.
Additionally, former Vermont Green FC players Carlos Zambrano and Jahiem Wickham declared for the draft. Zambrano played 20 games for Syracuse and scored five goals and three assists. Wickham played 17 games for the University of South Florida and recorded three shutouts and had a goals against average of 1.47.
The group will look to join the growing list of Vermont Green FC players who have been drafted into MLS. Owen O’Malley, Reid Fisher, Nate Jones, Zach Zengue, Eythor Bjorgolfsson, and Sydney Wathuta all had their names called in the draft since Vermont’s inception.
