Caleb Williams Joins Boston Legacy FC Investor Group
The latest high-profile Boston Legacy FC investor
Caleb Williams, the current quarterback for the Chicago Bears, has invested in Boston Legacy FC. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner and No.1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft is the founder of strategic investment firm 888 Midas.
“With 888 Midas, we are so excited to be part of the Boston Legacy Football Club,” Williams said in a statement. “Women’s sports is a movement, and I admire and respect the work that the team and the NWSL continues to do to grow the sport and empower future generations of athletes. Boston Legacy Football Club is building something special, and we’re proud to be a part of what’s next.”
Founded in 2024, 888 Midas provides a unique platform for athlete and advisor-led investing across private equity, venture capital, real estate, and alternative assets. When announcing the formation of the firm, Williams’ partners and advisors in the investment and business advisory vehicle included Lew Wolff, Chairman of Wolff Urban, a long-standing real estate development and management firm, and former co-owner and managing partner of the Oakland Athletics Major League Baseball team. Wolff acquired co-ownership of the Athletics in 2005 as managing partner through 2015 and is chairman emeritus.
In addition, Wolff acquired co-ownership of Major League Soccer’s San Jose Earthquakes in 2007. Wolff was also a former general partner of the St. Louis Blues and the Golden State Warriors.
“Caleb’s investment in Boston Legacy Football Club highlights the powerful momentum of women’s professional soccer and what it means to have professional athletes investing in our future,” Controlling Owner of Boston Legacy Football Club Jennifer Epstein said in a statement. “It symbolizes a new era of cross-league support and recognition. With best-in-class athletes, a rapidly growing fan base, and undeniable energy around the NWSL, we are proud to welcome Caleb as a partner as we prepare for the 2026 inaugural season.”
Boston Legacy Football Club will kick off its inaugural season in 2026, with a star-studded list of investors, including three-time Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman, actress Elizabeth Banks, Celtics General Manager Brad Stevens and his wife, Tracy, and Aliyah Boston, WNBA player for the Indiana Fever.
