Caleb Porter, Curt Onalfo Respond to Supporters' Group Demanding Firing
"I think, for me, fans are entitled to their opinion, and I respect their opinion. I don’t agree with their opinion."
New England Revolution head coach Caleb Porter and sporting director Curt Onalfo were both asked about statements that The Rebellion and The Midnight Riders put out, asking for the duo to lose their jobs.

Onalfo was the first to be asked about the statements by Boston.com’s Hayden Bird. He sympathized with the fan’s frustration, noting that the club is also frustrated by the poor performance.
“I can’t blame the fans and the supporters’ groups for being upset and being frustrated. We are frustrated,” Onalfo said. “There’s probably no one that is more frustrated than me as I sit at the helm. Our job in the front office is to continue to make the team better. We’re doing that today, and we will continue to do that. We have a vision for the club. I’ve been here for six years. I helped build one of the best pro pathways in Major League Soccer. It took at least two years for that to start seeing some of the fruits of the labor. Now we have one of the better ones in the league producing great players. My goal is to do the same thing with the first team.”
A day later, Porter was asked by Bird for his thoughts on the statement sent by the supporters’ groups of the club he coaches.
“I didn’t know about the statement,” Porter said. “I don’t have social media, so I didn’t hear a thing about it until, I think, someone asked a question to [Sporting Director] Curt [Onalfo] yesterday [in a press conference]. I think, for me, fans are entitled to their opinion, and I respect their opinion. I don’t agree with their opinion. So, I’m not really thinking about that. I’m thinking about winning the next game, that’s it. It doesn’t really impact anything I do.”
Anyone else remember when Porter used to come to the 18yd box and acknowledge the supporters in the fort after home games?
Him saying he didn't know anything about it is bs.
They should print the supporters group statements on a Tifo
Thanks for reprinting the 2 letters. These two buffoons need to be shown the door. Period. End of discussion. Hit the road, toads.
