BOS Nation FC Hires Brighton Recruitment Director
“In our conversations he came across as very thoughtful and people-oriented, wanting to understand the person behind the player, which aligns with the culture we want to build in Boston.”
BOS Nation FC has hired Edward Gallagher as the club’s director of recruitment. Gallagher will begin his role with the club in April, pending completion of his O1 visa.
“I’m looking forward to starting my work with Boston,” said Gallagher. “After speaking with Domè, the vision of the club was clear and aligns well with how I see the game. Having the opportunity to recruit players into an environment where they can learn and develop is an area I'm passionate about. I see my role not only covering scouting and recruitment, but extending holistically through the players’ integration at our club.”
Gallagher joins the club from WSL club Brighton & Hove Albion, where he was player recruitment manager for two years. At Brighton, Gallagher led an international scouting department in its identification and assessment of prospective playing talent for the women’s and girls’ pathway.
Prior to working at Brighton, Gallagher was a talent ID scout for the Scottish women’s national team. He also boasts a UEFA A License.
“Edward has extensive experience in different environments within the women’s game, specifically, as a women’s talent scout and recruitment manager, which is still rare,” said general manager Domènec Guasch. “In our conversations he came across as very thoughtful and people-oriented, wanting to understand the person behind the player, which aligns with the culture we want to build in Boston.”
Gallagher will report directly to the general manager in his role. He will be responsible for overseeing development of a strategic recruitment plan that aligns with BOS Nation’s playing philosophy and long-term goals. Additionally he will be tasked with curating a pipeline of talent through scouting networks and data-driven evaluation processes.
