Around the USL: Former Hartford Forward Signs With Pittsburgh
The Eastern Conference club announced the signing of J.C. Obregon on Wednesday.
After making 53 appearances in two season for Hartford Athletic between 2021-2022, it was announced Wednesday that J.C. Obregon will be taking his talents back to the USL Championship following a brief stint in his home country of Honduras.
The forward was initially signed by Hartford prior to the 2021 campaign, immediately breaking into the starting lineup and putting up a club-record ten goals in his first season in Green and Blue. He finished his Hartford career with 15 goals and three assists in two seasons, also making appearances with the Honduras Youth National Team.
He will join former New England Revolution forward Edward Kizza in a loaded Riverhounds attack that sits second in the Eastern Conference at 8-2-7 on the year. The forward will make his return to Trinity Health Stadium on August 23, where the two clubs are scheduled to meet for the second time in just under two weeks.
