Things will look a little bit different for MLS NEXT Pro going forward, as Thursday saw the league announce it would adopt a summer-spring calendar like MLS will do come June 2027.
Following the 2026 season, MLS NEXT Pro will have a miniature sprint season starting in February. Revolution II and other MLS NEXT Pro clubs will play 14 regular season matches from mid-February through late April. Following the regular season, MLS NEXT Pro will have a four-round playoff with the sprint season MLS NEXT Pro Cup Final taking place in late May.
After the 2027 sprint season ends, clubs will have a roughly month-and-a-half break before the inaugural summer-spring season commences in mid-July and runs until mid-December, when we enter the winter break. Action resumes in mid-February with the regular season commencing in mid-May 2028.
After Revolution II and the other MLS NEXT Pro clubs play 28 regular season games, MLS NEXT Pro will kick off the 2027-28 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Playoffs following the regular season, with the final taking place in early June.
