The Blazing Musket’s Seth Macomber is reporting Curt Onalfo will be named the New England Revolution’s Sporting Director, answering one of the largest questions hovering over the franchise as they enter the offseason.

Onalfo joined the New England Revolution in June 2019 as technical director and was named Interim Sporting Director in August 2023 when Bruce Arena was placed on administrative leave.

Asked at at The Rebellion’s Supporter Summit last October if Onalfo was a candidate for the job, Club President Brian Bilello said, “I don't want to comment on who or who isn't on the list. But we are pleased with Curt and his role with the club.”

Shortly after the news was reported, Tom Quinlan of WPRO reported Onalfo beat out former QPR Director of Football Les Ferdinand and Orlando City Technical Director and Assistant GM Ricardo Moreira, who were also considered for the job.
