What to Look Forward To

The rest of BLFC’s player announcements should be expected in the following weeks, as all players are expected to be with the team for preseason in January.

NWSL Schedule

The NWSL schedule will be released mid-January, and with it we will know how the league will handle World Cup scheduling, as well as which “home” games will be played in Rhode Island.

White Stadium

The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court will now be taking up the White Stadium lawsuit case after the Franklin Park Defenders filed an appeal in response to a judge’s verdict from earlier in the year. Meanwhile, the city has yet to publish an updated number (the latest estimate was $91 million) on its portion of the renovation cost. Wu’s administration recently said an updated estimate will be released in early 2026, according to The Boston Globe.

Inaugural Season

The Boston Legacy will kick off its inaugural season at Gillette Stadium on March 14, 2026. It’s only a matter of months until we see how the stadium and fan environment develops in the Legacy’s temporary digs.
