Boston Legacy FC has agreed to a trade with the Washington Spirit for forward Gift Monday. The Legacy sent $500,000 in transfer threshold funds in return for the forward. Washington also retains a 20 percent sell-on fee.

Monday has appeared in 48 regular season matches since joining the club in 2025 and has scored 12 goals and three assists. She made NWSL history in September 2025, scoring the fastest hat trick from kickoff in league history. Monday found the net three times in 35 minutes and 52 seconds against the Houston Dash.
Before joining the Spirit, Monday spent two and a half seasons with Spanish side UD Tenerife. The Nigerian made more than 65 appearances and scored 26 goal contributions across nearly 4,500 minutes.
Prior to her time in Spain, Monday played for Nigerian clubs FC Robo and COD United Amazons. At the international level, she made her senior debut for the Nigeria Women’s National Team in 2019 and was named to Nigeria’s 23-player roster for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She was recently called up to represent Nigeria in the team’s upcoming Olympic qualifying matches.
