Vermont Green FC clinched its second straight Norteast Division title as it secured a 6-1 win over Connecticut Rush.
The match was defined by Jeremy Francou's five-goal effort. He now holds the club record for most goals in a single game. Additionally, Alex Hall had three assists, making him the club's all-time assist leader.
Diego Letayf also made his debut for Vermont Green, starting at alongside center back Brandon Marshall. Letayf has five appearances for the Mexico Youth National Team and played at Georgetown.
Francou scored his first goal in the second minute and Connecticut responded with one of its own in the 16th minute.
But from there Vermont dominated the match. Connecticut clawed back with a goal in stoppage time following a 69th minute goal from Samson Kpardeh but the result was already locked up.
Francou now has 13 goals on the season, tying Yaniv Bazini’s 2024 single-season club record of 13.
Vermont will finish the regular season with a trip to Lusitano Stadium to play the Western Mass Pioneers on Friday.
