The matchups for the first round of the 2026 U.S. Open Cup are out and there are plenty of options for New England soccer fans.
The biggest matchup will take place in Vermont on March 17 as Vermont Green FC will host Portland Hearts of Pine. The Green have the chance to defeat a USL League One club for the second time having cupset Lexington SC who was in League One at the time.
New England's two USL Championship clubs will be taking on amateur sides. Hartford Athletic will head to New Jersey to face FC Motown of USL League Two, while Rhode Island FC will host CD Faialense.
The New England Revolution, will enter the tournament in later rounds.
