The New England Revolution made a few changes to the roster on Thursday as the club announced forward Maxi Urruti and winger Luiz Diaz had been waived.
Following a spell with Platense, Urruti returned to Major League Soccer on January 16th on a one-year deal through the end of 2025 with an option for 2026. Urruti’s time with the Revolution saw him appear in 21 matches across all competitions, where he tallied two goals over 671 minutes.
After a spell with Saprissa, Diaz returned to MLS on January 2nd on a one-year deal through the end of the 2025 with options for 2026 and 2027. Diaz’s time in New England saw him appear in 20 matches across all competitions, where he notched one assist over 456 minutes.
Urruti and Diaz’s departure gives the Revolution two open supplemental roster spots. Something they could use to enhance the roster as the club prepares for the final nine matches of the 2025 season.
