Vermont Green News: Bazini Finds New Home, Green Sign Norwegian Midfielder
The former striker moves up to USL 1 while a Boston College joined the 2025 squad.
Vermont Green FC continues to produce professional talent and also added a Boston College midfielder to its 2025 roster.
Yaniv Bazini has signed with South Georgia Tormenta FC. The striker had a prolific 2024 becoming Vermont Green’s all-time leading scorer before leading the University of Vermont to a national championship with 14 regular season goals.
“Yaniv brings a winning mentality and a new dynamic to our forward line,” Tormenta FC Head Coach Ian Cameron said. “We have an out-and-out striker and some out-and-out wingers, but for the journey ahead, we need a few players who can operate anywhere across the front three, and Bazini can do just that. He scores in big moments and rises to the occasion, as evidenced by his title charge with Vermont this past fall. Our club is excited to help launch his professional career in the U.S.”
Looking ahead to the 2025 USL League Two season, Norwegian midfielder Ask Ekeland will be spending his summer in Burlington. Ekeland joins the Green coming off of an impressive season at Boston College, scoring a team-leading 8 goals and tallying 2 assists in 17 starts. The midfielder also earned Second Team All-ACC honors in 2024.
