Vermont Green FC Goalkeeper Nate Silveira Signed by Crown Legacy FC
Silveira is the latest player to make a move since Vermont’s inaugeral season
Goalkeeper Nate Silveira has become the latest member of Vermont Green FC’s inaugeral team to make a move to MLS.
Silveira will be joining Crown Legacy FC, the second team for Charlotte FC that participates in MLS Next Pro.
The former Vermont Green FC goalkeeper appeared in eight games and made 20 saves with a goals against average of 1.00.
Silveira also had a decorated college career at the University of Vermont. The 22-year-old was the first player in program history to earn America East Goalkeeper of the Year in back-to-back seasons (2021-22).
Silveira was a captain for two seasons at Vermont and was named to the 2021 America East All-Championship Team when the Catamounts won a conference title. He finished the final season of his collegiate career ranked eighth in the country in clean sheets (11). The former Catamount went 14-4-2 in 2022, made 48 saves, and had a goals against average of 0.72.
It has been a successful offseason for Vermont Green with Owen O’Malley (St. Louis CITY SC) and Eythor Bjørgolfsson (Seattle Sounders) being drafted by MLS clubs.
