Revolution II Appoint Pablo Moreira Head Coach
Moreira joins Revs II after spending the past two seasons as an Assistant and Interim Head Coach with the first team.
New England Revolution II entered a new era on Wednesday as the club announced the hiring of Pablo Moreira as the club’s next Head Coach.
Moreira joins Revolution II after spending the last two seasons with the first team. After serving as an assistant coach, Moreira got his first taste of head coaching experience on September 15 after the club parted ways with Caleb Porter. His tenure as interim head coach saw Moreira finish the season with a 1-2-1 record.
Before joining the Revs, Moreira had stints as the Director of Soccer Operations for Akron University and as an Assistant Coach with the Portland Timbers and Columbus Crew.
Moreira joins a Revs II side coming off an incredible regular season, which ended with a third-place finish in the East after a 14-7-7 record and five shootout victories. Despite the regular season success, it didn’t translate to the postseason, which ended just as it began after a 1-0 loss to Chicago Fire II in the opening round.
It appears Moreira will have a ton of flexibility in forming his roster for 2026, as the club only has seven players under contract as of writing.
“I am incredibly grateful to God for this opportunity to serve as head coach of Revolution II,” Moreira said. “I want to thank our owners and front office for trusting me to lead the second team, where I’m eager to help develop and nurture the plethora of talented players we have rising within our pathway.”
