Report: Revolution Contact Jim Curtin
The Revolution's search for a new head coach has reportedly begun!
Just hours after the Revolution parted ways with Caleb Porter, New England has reportedly begun its search for a new coach.
According to GiveMeSport’s Tom Bogert, the club has reached out to Jim Curtin. While Bogert states talks are in “preliminary stages”, the MLS insider's sources indicated Curtin “is open to talking with the Revs”.
Curtin has been out of work since his decade-long tenure with the Philadelphia Union ended on November 11th, 2024. His time in Philly saw Curtin bring home the club’s lone trophy following a Supporters’ Shield title in 2020.
Sources iterate that while Curtin may be ready to return to coaching, he’ll only do so “for the right opportunity”.
There is one thing that could hinder any deal for Curtin. According to Bogert, Curtin is under contract with the Union through the 2026 season. It’s unknown what it would take to make him available to join.
Bogert also reports the Revs aren’t the only team who have had contact with Curtin. D.C. United reached out earlier this season, but were unable to complete a move.
While Curtin won’t be the only candidate for the Revs during its head coaching search, he is most definitely a name that would have Revolution fans excited.
Encouraging. Thank you.
