Report: 2015 Court Filings Reveal Potential Revolution Ownership Succession Plans
Filings from 2015, that recently came to light, give insight on what the future ownership could look like.
Editor’s Note: This article has been updated as a result of the Boston Herald correcting the original story to indicate that Josh Kraft COULD be a part of succession plans instead of being next in line to take over the New England Revolution.
Thanks to court documents that have recently come to light, we now know what the future could entail for the New England Revolution’s ownership, including the potential for Josh Kraft to take over ownership of the club.
According to a 2015 filing, current Boston Mayoral candidate Josh Kraft was listed as being a potential successor to his father, Robert Kraft, at Kraft Soccer LLC.
Monday’s report from the Boston Herald’s Gayla Cawley comes after Kraft has stated he would recuse himself from any talks related to the Revolution’s plan to build a soccer-specific stadium in Everett if he were to become the next Mayor of Boston.
When asked about the 2015 filing coming to light, a campaign spokesperson told Cawley and the Herald that Kraft has no formal position or role with Kraft Soccer LLC.
“At this time, the organization is controlled by one person, Robert Kraft,” the statement said.
The Herald also asked if that could be a change in the future, but were met with no reply.
Not a Boston resident, but I find it disingenuous that the Kraft campaign ads pooh-pooh White Stadium's rebuild.
