Center Back Kemali Green Signs With Hearts of Pine
The talented Temple Owl center-back looks to take the next step at Fitzpatrick Stadium
Portland Hearts of Pine have inked themselves a 6’2” center-back graduating from Temple University. Born in Jamaica, Kemali Green became a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native at a very young age and came up through the Philadelphia Union Academy before attending Temple University.
Looking at the tape it’s easy to see why the Hearts were interested in the all-purpose center back. With time playing as a holding midfielder he is comfortable on the ball and starting an attack with a long ball up the pitch. At the college level, his technical ability allowed him to defend well in any situation he faced.
Defensive-minded assistant coach Alex Ryan has OGC Nice center-back Moise Bombito on his list of some 30 developed professional players from his time at Seacoast United.
Bobby Murphy and Ryan will be looking to mold the talented young man from Philadelphia into a quality USL League 1 center back.
