Portland Hearts of Pine Add Three Players
Murphy adds Southern, Reilly, and Langlois to the HoP squad
Portland Hearts of Pine has added Mickey Reilly, Evan Southern, and Patrick Langlois to the 2025 roster.
A 23-year-old midfielder, Reilly from Carthage College set an all-time school record for most goals (48) and most points (126) at Carthage College.
Reilly also came to the Hearts pro combine and impressed on the field and was one of the favorites of the Dirigo Union supporters group members in attendance. Head coach Bobby Murphy could be seen talking with Reilly after the combine, greasing the skids for a contract offer to the talented midfielder most likely.
Southern is set for his professional debut after starring collegiately at James Madison University. In the 2024 season he contributed two goals and a Sun Belt Conference leading eight assists. Southern recorded an assist in four straight matches, the first Duke to accomplish the feat since Christian McLaughlin had an identical streak in 2011.
Langlois arrives in Portland after recently playing for the Northern Colorado Hailstorm. He is a proven USL League 1 player and started as a holding midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
"It's a special year for the community of Maine and I'm looking forward to giving my everything on and off the field," Langlois said.
Shawn as a resident of the state of Maine I feel like this team is now my home team. Glad you guys are providing this great coverage. I can follow whats going on six hours north.
