"Every time you step into a camp, there’s another opportunity to make your best case to be on that field when June rolls around.”

Matt Turner returned to New England, hoping to get his name back in the United States Men’s National Team starting goalkeeper conversation. His call-up for a pair of October friendlies is proof that he is on the right track.

After a stint in Europe that included stops at Arsenal, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest, Turner found himself facing the potential to not be the USMNT’s No.1 come the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He spent most of his time on the bench and showed rust when earning starts for the U.S.

But since coming to New England, Turner has been the clear starter. He has eight matches under his belt and has recorded two clean sheets and made 29 saves.
