Javaun Mussenden Named Revolution Academy Player of the Year
The 18-year-old receives the award following a breakout season with Revolution II
Midfielder Javaun Mussenden received recognition on Friday as he was named the New England Revolution Academy Player of the Year.
It comes after the 18-year-old had a breakout season with Revolution II alongside another solid season with the Revs Academy. Mussenden tallied three goals and an assist with the Under-18 squad during the 2024-25 MLS NEXT Season.
After making four appearances during the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season, 2025 saw a significant bump in playing time for the young midfielder. The Dallas, Georgia native ended the regular season with one goal and two assists in 22 appearances for Revolution II.
“This award is a testament to Javaun’s ongoing growth, and we’re proud to be a part of his continued development both as a player and a person,” Revolution technical director Remi Roy said.
“I’m honored to be named the Revolution’s Academy Player of the Year,” Mussenden added. “Being part of this club has meant a lot to me and I’m grateful for all the support I’ve received. I want to especially thank Rob Becerra, who took a chance on me and gave me this incredible career opportunity, as well as my past and present coaches, teammates, and my family for helping me become the player that I am today. I’m proud to represent New England every time I step on the pitch.”
Mussenden will look to continue his development when Revolution II begins its quest for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup on Sunday, when Revs II hosts Chicago Fire II in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal.
