Injury Updates For Brandon Bye, Tomas Chancalay, and Peyton Miller
Caleb Porter gives us an injury update.
New England Revolution head coach Caleb Porter provided injury updates after Tuesday’s training session.
Brandon Bye was a full participant in training, a positive sign for the right back who underwent successful surgery to repair a torn right ACL on Aug. 28, 2023. The injury was sustained during a Leagues Cup game on Aug. 3.
“With Brandon, again, he’s been out a long time, so it’ll be three or four weeks, but he’s definitely, in the second half of the year, going to factor in and play a role,” Porter said. “But also, Nick Lima is playing really well right now.”
Peyton Miller, who suffered a foot injury during preseason, is also nearing a return.
“Peyton Miller, as well, is back in and full out,” Porter said. “Same thing, we’re hoping to get him some minutes with Revs II, possibly next week, so he can start to build his fitness up. “
Porter is still waiting to learn more about Tomas Chancalay’s injury. The Designated Player exited in the 11th minute of the Revs’ game against New York City FC on on May 25.
“We’ll know next Monday,” Porter said. “They’re going to be reevaluating it, re-MRI’ing him, and making a decision on what the next steps for him [are]. So, we just don’t know. Like I said, it could be minor, it could be major. Ultimately, they wanted a couple weeks to let the swelling go down and wanted to re-MRI it after that and see how he was progressing over two weeks.”
Long time with no comment on Peyton Miller - no mention of the specific injury other than it was a foot. Broken bone?
