Former Vermont Green FC Midfielder Signs With Las Vegas Lights
The Lights are now Revs West
Former Vermont Green FC midfielder Giorgio Probo has signed with Las Vegas Lights FC of the USL Championship.
Probo is fresh off a stint in Canada with Halifax Wanderers. He made 44 total appearances, adding six goals and five assists in just under two seasons with the club.
His time with the Canadian side came to an end rather abruptly but according to the HFX Football Post, the club sought to terminate his contract due to “attitude issues”. The report adds that Probo had an altercation with a teammate in February and later became unhappy with playing time and butted heads with the coaching staff.
The midfielder has an impressive resume dating back to his youth academy days in Italy. The Atalanta BC academy product tallied over 4,000 minutes of playing time in the Italian fourth tier.
After coming to the United States for college, Probo played 40 matches for the Creighton Blue Jays from 2022 to 2023, scoring five goals and 21 assists. In 2023, he was named the Big East Co-Midfielder of the Year and selected as part of the All-Big East First Team.
Probo was dominant with The Green, recording seven assists, which is a club record for helpers in a single season.
