Former New England Revolution Head Coach and Sporting Director Bruce Arena Could Return to MLS
Tom Bogert is reporting that Arena could return to MLS in 2025
According to Tom Bogert, Bruce Arena could make his return to MLS in 2025.
Bogert is reporting that Arena and the San Jose Earthquakes are in advanced discussions to make the 73-year-old its head coach.
Arena resigned from his role with the New England Revolution in September of 2023 after he was placed on administrative leave for alleged “inappropriate and insensitive remarks”. The head coach helped New England win a Supporters’ Shield in 2021 in the club’s best-ever season.
Arena has the most wins (250), the most MLS Cups (five), the most Coach of the Year awards (four), and the most Supporters’ Shields (four) in league history. His appointment would send shockwaves through the league as the coach would look to rebuild the worst team in MLS in 2024.
Wow. Just. Wow. Still no real info on what the heck actually went down.
I hope SJ hires him, and he returns to Gillette as their coach and kicks our butts!
