Dylan Borrero Returns to Brazil, Signs With Fortaleza
After a disappointing stint with the Revs, the Colombian midfielder returns to Brazil
Dylan Borrero has found a new home after his stint with the New England Revolution. The Colombian has signed a contract with Fortaleza that expires at the end of 2028.
“We understand its arrival as a great market opportunity,” Marcelo Paz, CEO of Fortaleza EC SAF said regarding Borrero. “When he was at Atlético Mineiro, we tried to bring him, but at the time he was sold for almost 4 million euros.”
The 22-year-old had a disappointing time in New England as he struggled with injuries and consistency. The winger appeared in 37 matches over two and a half seasons, scoring six goals and six assists.
Fortaleza is coming off a strong season where it finished fourth in Brazil’s Serie A. Borrero will be entering a situation where he will be expected to perform. The Brazilian club will be hoping that he does a much better job of answering the call compared to his time in New England.
