Allan Oyirwoth Called Up to Ugandan National Team
The 18-year-old midfielder will join The Cranes for a pair of international friendlies.
Tuesday saw midfielder Allan Oyirwoth add another achievement to his professional resume as he was one of 28 names selected by Paul Put to represent Uganda during June’s slate of international friendlies.
The Cranes will open the window on June 6 with a meeting against Cameroon before a meeting against The Gambia on the 9.
Since arriving in New England this past offseason, Oyirwoth has made five appearances with Revolution II, where he’s tallied one goal over 423 minutes.
May 8 saw Oyirwoth make his first team debut when he got the start in the Revolution’s 2-1 win over Rhode Island FC in the Round of 32 of the U.S. Open Cup.
June’s slate of friendlies will give Oyirwoth the opportunity to add to his National Team resume. The 18-year-old midfielder has two caps with Uganda since his debut on November 21, 2023.
Oyirwoth and the Revolution return to action this evening when they face the Chicago Fire in the Round of 16 of the U.S. Open Cup.
