The New England Revolution announced the signing of Revolution II midfielder Cristiano Oliveira to a Homegrown deal through December 2029 with an additional one-year club option.

As an Academy prospect, Oliveira got his first taste of professional action during the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season, tallying an assist in 10 appearances for Revolution II. After an impressive debut season, Oliveira joined the club full-time after inking his first professional contract on October 11, 2024.

The Somerville native had a breakout season with Revs II last year, tallying five goals and an assist in 22 appearances. His performance in 2025 also earned him a spot on the MLS NEXT All-Star Game, where he found an equalizer just before halftime as the Eastern All-Stars pulled off a 4-3 victory.

While he just signed, the 17-year-old already has experience playing with the first team. Oliveira made his Revolution debut on May 8, 2025, when he subbed on in the 75th minute. It didn’t take long for Oliveira to make an impact as he found the back of the net in the 88th minute to secure New England a 2-1 win over RIFC and advance in the U.S. Open Cup. Oliveira also clocked 75 minutes in a 3-1 loss to Chicago in the Round of 16 in the U.S. Open Cup.

The midfielder’s work with Revolution II has led to him breaking through on the international stage, as he received call-ups to the United States’ U15, U16, and U17 squads. Oliveira’s time with the U17s has seen him tally a goal in three caps.

Back in September, Oliveira expressed his gratitude for the organization and everything they have done for him.

“I came here as a 14-year-old, and this club has done everything for me," he said. "From allowing me to play against the best to paying for my hotels and flights, everything. It’s been a journey.”

Sporting Director Curt Onalfo highlighted Oliveira’s previous success and potential.

“He has impressed at every level of our pyramid, from the academy to the second team, to his U.S. Open Cup experience last season," Onalfo said in a statement. "If he continues to commit himself to his craft, he is poised to have a bright future with the Revolution."

Revolution Head Coach Marko Mitrović also highlighted Oliveira's potential.

"We believe that he has a high ceiling and we are ready to invest all our resources to help him reach his full potential and become an impactful player for our team. We look forward to working with Cristiano."

Oliveira and the Revolution have kicked off their Florida leg of preseason and are inching closer toward the opening match of the 2026 season in Nashville on February 21.
