It was a debut to remember for Jake Shannon as he ended the Revolution II match against Toronto FC II with six defensive contributions, won one tackle, completed one interception, completed two clearances, blocked two shots, recovered the ball five times, won two of three ground duels, and won all six aerial duel attempts.
Shannon also ended the night with one key pass, completed 78 of 92 passing attempts, and completed six of eight long pass attempts. He also came up big in the shootout, converting in the fourth round as Revs II secured the additional point following a 7-6 shootout victory.

Following the match, Shannon expressed gratitude for making his debut and was thankful to everyone around him for the opportunity. Shannon also highlighted how his prior experiences with members of the coaching staff have helped him acclimate to New England.
“I played under Michael Milazzo my senior year of Academy with [North Carolina FC]. I'm really good friends with his son, and we've kind of just stayed connected and he followed me throughout my career at [University of North Carolina Wilmington], and I've always stayed in contact with them," Shannon said. "They've, honestly just become family to me, and they were able to help me reach my goals of becoming a professional soccer player. So, I'm very thankful for them.”
Prior to arriving in New England, Shannon had the opportunity to participate in The Soccer Tournament. For those unfamiliar, it’s a viral seven-versus-seven side tournament that takes place in Cary, North Carolina, and has seen notable names and clubs participate for a chance to take home a million dollars.
2025 saw Shannon compete for Drip FC. The club made it all the way to the quarterfinals of the competition after securing a 6-2 win over Wrexham and a 3-2 victory over City Soccer SC before suffering a 2-1 loss to eventual champions Bumpy Pitch FC.
Shannon called the experience one of the best of his life and was incredibly grateful for the opportunity. He also wished the team the best of luck as they return to compete in 2026.
Shannon will look to build off his strong debut when Revolution II return to action on Sunday, March 15, when they host FC Cincinnati 2 at 1 PM ET.
