Portland Hearts of Pine are not done building their roster as the start of the 2026 season approaches. Hearts announced the signing of Tyler Huck, a midfielder from Bowdoin College in Brunswick.

The Ross, California native is second all-time for the Polar Bears in both career goals (34) and assists (19). Huck has twice earned NCAA All-American honors and was named the NESCAC Player of the Year in 2025.

Huck joined Portland as a trialist for their preseason trip to Bermuda, where he scored off a corner kick in the Hearts’ opening match against the Bermuda Select team.

“Tyler came in initially just to train," head coach Bobby Murphy said. "Each day he continued to impress the staff and his teammates. He has good feet and good brains.”

Huck called the opportunity to play professional soccer “a dream come true.”

Huck is the second player with local ties the Hearts have signed. In 2025, the club added Lewiston native Khalid Hersi to the roster.
