Former New England Revolution midfielder Lee Nguyen has become the head coach and technical director of Dallas Trinity SC. The Texas club plays in the USL Super League.
“Coming home to North Texas to lead Dallas Trinity FC is an incredible opportunity,” Nguyen said in a statement. “This club has already established a strong foundation, and I’m excited to work with our players, staff and supporters as we continue building something special. Dallas has always been part of who I am, and it’s an honor to help shape the future of this club and continue growing the women’s game in this community.”
Nguyen joins Dallas Trinity after five seasons coaching in the National Women’s Soccer League, including helping the Washington Spirit capture the 2021 NWSL Championship as an assistant coach. He most recently served as an assistant coach with Seattle Reign FC.
The former Rev was born in Richardson, Texas and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Nguyen played youth soccer for the Dallas Texans before starring at Plano East Senior High School.
Nguyen made over 200 appearances for New England and scored over 50 goals. His best season came in 2014 when he scored 18 goals and registered five assists. Additionally, he was an All-Star and Best XI selection as the Revs made it to the MLS Cup Finals.
This is Nguyen's first head coaching job as well as his first time serving as a technical director.
