Friday saw CT United FC bolster its defense with the addition of outside back Rickson Van Hees.
After starting his youth career in Dutch amateur side RKVV Emplina’s youth setup, Van Hees went on to join the NEC Nijmegen organization, where he featured for the club’s U17, U18, U19, and U21 teams. Van Hees’ time with Nijmegen saw him register two goals and clock 3,893 minutes in 46 appearances across all four youth levels.
The Glendale, Arizona native returned stateside on April 20th, 2021, as he signed a deal with then-USL League One side North Texas SC. His time in Texas saw Van Hees make one appearance off the bench.
After one year in Texas, the dual national returned to the Netherlands to join FC Twente’s U21 side, where he notched one assist in 37 appearances over two seasons.
Following his time with FC Twente, Van Hees joined FC Utrecht’s U21 side and clocked 4,074 minutes in 49 appearances over two seasons.
Van Hees has some international experience under his belt. In 2019, he earned three caps with the United States Under-17s.
Rickson Van Hees becomes the 19th addition by CT United FC ahead of its inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season, which kicks off on March 1st.
