2025 USL2 Champion and Vermont Green FC leading goalscorer and assist provider Zach Zengue has been acquired by St. Louis CITY SC on loan from Columbus Crew SC until the end of the 2026 MLS season.
After an exceptional first half of the season with Columbus Crew 2 scoring a team-high 10 goals and 3 assists, he'll look to bolster a St. Louis CITY SC attack that began to gel in the weeks leading up to the World Cup break.
The Missouri side paid 50,000 in 2026 GAM for the loan, with an option for a permanent acquisition at the end of the season.
"Zach has a high ceiling and has shown he can be an impact player at the MLS NEXT Pro level. I have followed Zach since recruiting him out of college in 2024, and what has stood out to me is his versatility, and his knack for creating and finishing goal-scoring opportunities," said St. Louis CITY SC Sporting Director Corey Wray.
Wray was the Assistant GM of Columbus Crew and General Manager of Columbus Crew 2 at the time of Zengue's selection in the 2024 MLS Superdraft after an excellent year at Georgetown University and Vermont Green FC.
