A day after it was announced that Portland Hearts of Pine defender Nathan Messer signed with the USL Championship Charleston Battery, Hearts announced the signing of midfielder Konstantinos Georgallides from UCLA.

The 24-year-old most recently played for the UCLA Bruins and was a key member of their 2025 Big10 Championship club. The Cypriot midfielder tallied a pair of goals in the championship match for the Bruins in an upset win versus the #1-seeded Michigan Wolverines. Georgallides was one of UCLA’s leading offensive weapons, ranking second in goals (5), shots (19), and shots on frame (9).

Before joining the Bruins, Georgallides played collegiately for Louisville (2022, 2023) and UNC-Greensboro (2024).

Prior to coming stateside to play collegiately, the 5-foot-6-inch Georgallides played with the first division Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus and won a league title with the club’s second team. He was also a member of the Cyprus national team from U14 through U19, playing on the U17 squad at the European Championships.

“We think Tino has a really bright future," Hearts head coach Bobby Murphy said in a statement. "He’s a clever, intelligent player. He combines good technical ability with a high soccer IQ for someone his age.”

While the Hearts of Pine return much of the roster that took to the field at "Fort Fitzy" in their inaugural 2025 season, Georgallides is the sixth new face to be added to the squad for 2026.
