Vermont Green FC Sign Georgetown Freshman
The forward just finished his first season with the Hoyas.
Vermont Green FC made another addition to their attack ahead of the 2023 USL League Two season.
The Green added Zachary Zengue to their roster after the forward completed his freshman season with the Georgetown Hoyas. Zengue scored one goal in his debut season with the Hoyas and appeared in 19 games.
Georgetown head coach Brian Wiese praised Zengue’s versatility when he signed his National Letter of Intent with the Hoyas.
“He has the positional flexibility to play up front, in the midfield or in the flanks and has next-level quickness,” Wiese said. “He can score goals, while also setting up teammates. He'll be a fun player to place in the lineup because I can see him succeeding at almost any position on the field."
While at Georgetown, Zengue got to play with fellow freshman Jack Panayotou who is currently playing for the New England Revolution.
What’s the deal with VG signing college players? Is it a league thing that allows them to play both college and league?
