Transfer Rumor: Former New England Revolution Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic Joins Chelsea Loan Army
The Petrovoz will be pulling into France
Former New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has headed out on loan and will be playing for Strasbourg for the 2024-25 season according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. The French club are owned by BlueCo, the multi-club ownership group which also controls Chelsea.
With Chelsea having SIX goalkeepers on its roster and Robert Sanchez the clear No. 1, it is a smart move for the club and Petrovic. The former Revolution goalkeeper made 31 first-team appearances across all competitions last season for the Blues.
Strasbourg finished 13th in France’s top-flight last season and manager Patrick Vieira left the club and was replaced by Liam Rosenior. Petrovic should receive plenty of time and will look to show off his talent in a new landscape.
