Rumor: BOS Nation FC Hires Sporting Director

BOS Nation FC seem to have begun building its operations team starting with the hiring of a sporting director. 

According to Maria Tikas at Sport, Boston Unity Soccer Partners has hired FC Barcelona’s Head of Women’s Football Management Domènec Guasch as the team’s sporting director. Guasch primarily worked on player signings and negotiations at Barcelona. 

Guasch has been with the club since 2011 — according to his LinkedIn profile — and spent several years managing Barça Academy in the Americas. He switched over to the women’s side in May 2023. 

The move comes less than a year after the Washington Spirit hired FC Barcelona Femení Coach Jonatan Giráldez as its head coach. After a successful tenure with the Barcelona team, Giráldez has led the Spirit to the NWSL championship final in his first season.
