50k is a pretty funny number. Ema was worth 200k to an expansion team. I'm almost surprised the revs aren't paying Montreal in order to free up the DP slot.
They probably have to cover the exchange rate difference $1 cad = $0.70 usd :). This seems like a buyout without it being a buyout. I had to check the calendar when I 1st saw the news to make sure it wasn't April 1st. I wish him well, but am not sorry to see him leave.

I honestly thought we’d have to use a buyout on this so 50k is just a bonus!
That number seemed odd to me too. Is it because Montreal commit to paying him the same as the revs were? So they were glad to off load that?
