How do you trade one of your top 2 or three players for virtually nothing? To save a few hundred grand? Dejuan was one of the main reasons I went to games, that is when this team was worth paying to see more than a year ago. WTF!
Onalfo and Porter have to go. They trade one of their better players for someone who is unknown and done nothing and money. These two are guys are fucking idiots. I don't know why I waste my money supporting these idiots ruining this team.
No fair for the Blazing Musket to do the research to show the mendacity of Porter in praising Jones in January as “ideal” and then trading him for one of Porter’s ballboys in July. A little while ago, Dejuan was rumored to be attracting overseas interest, but now the US international is worth a nobody?
The only way this could be at all justified financially (and to be clear I absolutely HATE this) is if that overseas interest has petered out? Otherwise taking a pass on the potential transfer fee for jones is downright negligent
Head Coach Caleb Porter stated, "DeJuan is the ideal profile in our game model and I’m very pleased he will remain a key part of our team for the foreseeable future."
...
So they say something like that, CHOOSE to pay him more, and then offload him like a kid saying "ow my backpack is too heavy" just because a new teenager played well twice? Joke coach. Joke sporting director.
Hate to see Jones go. I have my doubts but I think this trade should ultimately be graded on whether Miller pans out at left back and what the Revs do with the roster spot and cap space this opens up.
I think it’s a good move - with the caveat that Miller has to prove durable enough for MLS. Miller is already better than Jones.
Jones is extraordinarily popular, but the truth is that he leveled off the last few years and doesn’t do as much to generate offense like he used to. Not sure why they gave him the big contract, but he’s not a $1M player.
Unless he takes a huge pay cut, Farrell will be next.
This is going to infuriate supporters. DJ is extremely popular among fans. This looks SO old-school OG Revs money-saving BS.
What the actual fuck?
I am furious. Porter out.
Onalfo just got fleeced. That isn’t close to what DJ’s value is
So, Porter signs someone he championed in Columbus. Got it. SMH.

Wow. Just...wow.

Jones had a lot of promise at one point, but leveled off. I don’t think he has much monetary value any more.

I'm really grateful RIFC exists now.

Farrell has been on borrowed time imo for a couple years now.
