Porter Provides Injury Updates For Borrero, Jones, and Nacho
Porter: "[Dylan Borrero] will be fine. It [looked] a lot worse at first."
On Thursday, New England Revolution head coach Caleb Porter provided injury updates for Dylan Borrero, DeJuan Jones, and Nacho Gil.
Borrero was stretchered off the field during the final minutes of Saturday’s game against the New York Red Bulls. Fortunately for the Revs, it wasn’t as bad as it seemed.
“[Dylan Borrero] will be fine,” Porter said. “It [looked] a lot worse at first… It was a hard knock on, basically, his lateral knee, so it's a contusion. It was very painful, but he did a little training today. He’s going to continue to progress and we expect that he will be available.”
Jones has been sidelined since the New York City FC game on Apr. 13. The left back is moving in the right direction.
“DeJuan [Jones] trained today, half training,” Porter said. “We're hoping full training tomorrow. Then we’ve just got to work him in, obviously, with the fitness. So, we hope that he is available for some minutes. Obviously, the outside back position is a little tricky. You don't sub a ton in that position, but I think he could be available in the next couple of weeks to play.”
The latest on Nacho Gil is less positive as the midfielder is still sidelined with a meniscus injury he sustained during the Inter Miami game on Apr. 27.
“[Nacho Gil] is out for a while. It's going to be couple months with him,” Porter said.
The Revolution welcome the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, May 18. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
We don’t often read good news about our team or players this year, so I’m gonna take this as a win.
I hope that he is right but somehow Andrew Farrell will be blamed if he is not ok.
