Hartford Athletic Sign Daniel Bloyou to 25-Day Contract
The forward comes to the Green and Blue after spending the 2022 season with FC Tucson
Ahead of their second-ever meeting with New Mexico United on Saturday, Hartford Athletic have announced the signing of former FC Tucson forward Daniel Bloyou.
The former Penn State standout and Philadelphia Union academy product made six appearances in his debut professional season with FC Tucson is 2022, yet to record his first professional goal or assist. He spent a brief stint on loan to Swedish third tier side Ljungskile SK during the latter half of the 2022 season, where he saw action in two games.
His first professional season followed a standout collegiate career at Penn State, where he transferred from Old Dominion University after making 32 appearances in two years. The second half of his collegiate career proved to be his most successful, where he scored 16 goals and assisted nine in 33 appearances for the Nittany Lions in two seasons.
During his senior season, a number of honors included being named a United Soccer Coaches Third team All-American, earning first-team All-Big Ten Honors and Big Ten All-Tournament Team honors after scoring three goals in three games en route to the 2022 Big Ten Championship.
During his college career, the Ghanian also spent time with USL League Two sides Philadelphia Lone Star FC and Reading United AC. In 2022, the forward was selected 75th overall in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft by Atlanta United, but was never signed by the 2018 champions.
Bloyou is the second addition to the squad this week, and will be available for selection in Saturday’s meeting with New Mexico United.
