Boston Legacy Signing Amanda Gutierres Nominated for FIFA Best XI
Boston Legacy's roster will have one of the best women's players in the world
Ahead of the 2026 NWSL season, one of Boston Legacy FC’s marquee signings is earning some high praise. Amanda Gutierres was nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s XI which recognizes the 11 best women’s soccer players in the world.
The 24-year-old Brazilian is currently playing for Brazilian club Palmeiras, currently fourth in Serie A1. The forward has 15 goals in 15 games so far.
Gutierres was nominated as a forward alongside other top players such as Barbra Banda, Mariona Caldentey, Temwa Chawinga, Melchie Dumornay, Lauren James, Chloe Kelly, Alexia Putellas, and Mayra Ramirez. She was also recently nominated for the 2025 Ballon d’Or Féminin, finishing 21st in the global ranking.
Gutierres also played a key role in securing Brazil’s victorious 2025 Copa América Femenina, finishing as joint top scorer of the competition with six goals while being named to the Team of the Tournament.
At the club level, Gutierres led Palmeiras in goals last season and claimed the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino Série A1 Golden Boot in both 2023 and 2024. Her standout performances earned her the prestigious Bola de Prata award in 2024, recognizing her as one of the league’s top players.
In a career spanning 42 games, she has 41 goals. Prior to playing for Palmeiras, Gutierres had a stint in France with Bordeaux after rising through the ranks of Santos at the age of 17.
