Boston Legacy Announces Free Ticket Program for Boston Public School Students

Boston Legacy FC announced that it will donate one ticket to a Boston Public Schools student for every two tickets purchased to the inaugural home opener in March.
The Giving Tuesday campaign will run through Dec. 9 and aims to make women’s soccer accessible to the community.
“Our ticketing initiative is just one of the ways we’ve committed to giving back to our community,” said Boston Legacy president Jennifer van Dijk. “Having BPS students there is going to add incredible energy for our first ever home game. We want the next generation of fans to come to our games - and for the next generation of players to be able to watch the best athletes in the best women’s soccer league in the world.”
Season ticket members are also able to make additional two-ticket purchases at a discount until 24 hours before the game, and the team will still honor the BPS ticket donation.
The club did not comment further when asked by The Blazing Musket if a similar partnership with BPS would continue through the season, but said it is in constant communication with the city about community involvement.
While we wait for the players to set foot on the field, team staff has been working on ramping up its outreach. Over the last few weeks, the Legacy has worked with local businesses like Blackbird Doughnuts and Formaggio Kitchen to provide free goods to the public. BLFC staff also participated in the 5th Annual Worrell Turkey Drive before Thanksgiving and helped distribute turkeys to families in Mattapan, Dorchester, and Roxbury.
Though there are over three months until the season starts, I think Bostonians will be seeing a lot more green and pink infiltrating the streets in times to come.
The home opener will take place on Saturday, March 14 at Gillette Stadium. The opponent has not been announced.
