The New England Revolution fell to the Portland Timbers in a late-night Saturday matchup that saw New England suffer a 2-1 loss to the Timbers.

The Revolution starting XI featured a tweaked backline with Brandon Bye starting in place of Ilay Feingold as the right back dealt with an ankle injury that kept him out of the lineup. Brayan Ceballos, Mamadou Fofana, and Tanner Beason started at center back while Peyton Miller was the other winger.

The midfield was made up of Alhassan Yusuf and Matt Polster while Carles Gil played as the No. 10. Luca Langoni and Leo Campana served as the forward pairing up top.

So what do you need to know about the match? Here are three thoughts.
