The MBTA announced it will run a special event train for Boston Legacy’s home opener at Gillette Stadium.
There will be one train for the 12:30 PM match on March 14. It will depart South Station at 10:05 AM and stop at Back Bay and Dedham Corporate Center before arriving at Foxboro Station at 11:05 AM.
There will also be one inbound train departing from Foxboro 30 minutes after the final whistle.
Fans will be able to buy the $20 train tickets on the mTicket app starting March 9 at 11 AM.
“At Boston Legacy FC, we are committed to delivering an exceptional fan experience, and the special event train is a direct result of listening to our supporters. We’re thrilled to offer fans the option to commute from South Station to Foxborough,” said BLFC president Jennifer van Dijk.
The special event train will only be used for the first Legacy game, according to the team.
The club has yet to release any transportation plans for the remainder of the season’s home games, which will take place at Gillette, as well as Centreville Bank Stadium in Rhode Island.
