New England Revolution head coach Marko Mitrovic provided an assessment of his roster on Thursday, one week before the primary transfer window closes on March 26.

While many players entered 2026 on guaranteed contracts, Mitrovic was able to make some additions, inking Brooklyn Raines, Ethan Kohler, Cristiano Oliveira, Griffin Yow, JD Gunn, and Diego Fagundez.

Building a roster is an ongoing process, but the head coach sees positives in what he currently has.

"I think every roster in this league can be always better, but I'm happy with the way we are practicing and the effort that guys are putting in every day," Mitrovic said on Zolak and Bertrand.

The Revs have two Designated Players (Carles Gil and Matt Turner) and four U22 Initiative Players (Luca Langoni, Ilay Feingold, Dor Turgeman, and Raines). They could open up a DP slot by buying down Turner, or if the goalkeeper heads elsewhere, which is a possibility since his loan expires on June 30.

DPs tend to be the bedrock of any MLS team, as such it's important to get them right.

"Every team in the league at any given moment can be better," Mitrovic said. "Every team, and not just us but everywhere in the world, will use an opportunity to be better.

"So if we have a possibility to bring in a [Designated Player] and that DP is someone that we believe is the right decision for us, I think we as a club will make that step. But that's something that I’m not thinking of right now."

The primary transfer window closes on Thursday, and the secondary window runs from July 13 to September 2.
