Portland Hearts of Pine have added another piece to their 2026 roster with the signing of Aboubacar Camara to a performance-based contract. The forward arrives from Penn State University after a collegiate career that established him as a consistent scoring threat.
Camara first made his mark at the University of Louisville, where he spent three seasons with the Cardinals. During that stretch, he scored 25 goals and added four assists, leading the team in scoring each season and finishing his career ranked among the top eight goal scorers in school history.
Camara transferred to the University of Kentucky for his senior season but did not find the same scoring success in Lexington, recording three goals and two assists in his lone year with the Wildcats. He then played a graduate season at Penn State, where he rediscovered his scoring touch, finding the back of the net five times to lead the Nittany Lions in goals.
Hearts’ head coach Bobby Murphy sees Camara as a player who can “add depth and flexibility at [the] No. 9 spot.”
