Hartford Athletic has been hard at work preparing for its inaugural USL W season as the club announced two new signings while learning which division they will compete in.

January 20 saw the club add to its attack with the addition of Maggie Kershnar. The high school junior joins Hartford after guiding Amity Regional High School to the CIAC Class LL Final. The forward's time at Amity Regional led to Class LL CGSCA All-Region honors and a spot on the All-State team. Kershnar’s work at the high school and club levels led to the Woodbridge native verbally committing to the University of Connecticut.

On February 3, the club added to its midfield with the addition of Emma Gregorski from Providence College. Gregorski arrives in Hartford after spending one season with Providence, tallying two assists in 16 assists for the Friars. Before heading to the collegiate level, the South Glastonbury native tallied 27 goals and 22 assists in four years with Loomis Chaffee.

Gregorski’s time with Loomis Chaffee also saw the midfielder earn two Connecticut All-State honors (2021 & 2023), 2021 All-NEPSAC Team, 2021 Boston Globe All-Star Honors, WNEPSSA All-Star Team, 2021 Loomis Chaffee Offensive MVP, and 2023 Loomis Chaffee Defensive MVP honors.

Kershnar and Gregorski become the fourth and fifth additions under first-year head coach Danny Barrera ahead of Hartford’s inaugural season.

In addition to two new signings, we also learned that Hartford will play its first USL W season in the Northeast Division alongside in-state rivals AC Connecticut, Hudson Valley Crusaders, Vermont Green, and New England Mutiny.
