Carles Gil promises to continue to work hard for New England Revolution fans.
It’s been a trying year-and-a-half for the Revolution, who didn’t make the playoffs in 2024. This year, the club is eight points below the line, with 11 games to play.
Games have been close, as the Revs have only had two multi-goal losses in 2025. The hope is that the final stretch, which includes seven home games, will result in more points gained than lost.
“Obviously, it’s a hard moment, a difficult time for everyone,” Carles Gil said. “In the end, we’re still in a place that we want not to be. That’s true that we had some good moments. We lost some games that we did well, but in the end, we finished losing the game.
“I think we need to learn about that, to think about that, because I don’t think anyone wants to be in the position we are doing in the last two years.”
Gil found it challenging to pinpoint what the team is missing. He noted they created chances against Austin FC, but only managed a draw. Four days later, they scored three goals against the New York Red Bulls, but lost 5-3.
“Everyone is looking at himself and trying to give the best to the team,” Gil said. “We are a big club. The fans are supporting us every game. It’s hard to not give them good wins.”
The Revs have been solid on the road, with a 4-4-5 record. At Gillette Stadium, they are 2-6-2.
Gil was asked if he has a message to fans, who continue to show up each week.
“Just say thank you to them for the support, for being there every game,” Gil said. “It’s hard, for sure, to support a team that is not giving them what they want, it’s not giving wins. So thank you for being there. We are going to try to continue to work hard and change everything.”
